Sheila Kay Atkinson, 74, of Lowell, AR passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Circle of Life in Springdale, AR. She was born in Camden, AR on April 7, 1952 to the late James and Dora DeLoach Bechtelheimer.
Sheila was of the Baptist faith and was a member of the 3rd Street Baptist Church in Arkadelphia. She was a 1970 graduate of Camden High School and she attended Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia.
Also preceding her in death were her sister, Cheryl Jane Bechtelheimer Taylor.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Mike Atkinson, two sons, Matthew Atkinson (Natalie) of Fayetteville, Oakley Atkinson (Magen) of Arkadelphia, two daughters, Michelle Dejanes of Kansas City, MO, Amanda Mills (Josh) of Lowell, AR, and six grandchildren; Ethan Dejanes, Aubree Atkinson, Ava Mills, Cooper Atkinson, Mason Dejanes, and Kayleigh Atkinson.
Graveside services were held Thursday, July 16, in Leek Cemetery with Bro. David Bush and Bro. Ray Williams officiating. Pallbearers were Matthew Atkinson, Josh Mills, Oakley Atkinson, Ethan Dejanes, Kyle Riggin, and Matthew Pless.
