Clark County’s drought status has improved from D2 Severe Drought to D1 Moderate Drought, according to the latest U.S. Drought Monitor.
The intensity scale ranges from None to D4 Exceptional Drought.
The latest map was released July 16 and reflects conditions as of July 14.
Recent rainfall across Arkansas improved drought conditions across the state. Portions of northern and southwest and far southeast Arkansas received above normal precipitation during the past 30 days.
The National Weather Service in Little Rock noted areas of drought improvement across central, eastern and southeastern portions of the state. Still, nearly 70% of Arkansas continues to experience drought conditions, and nearly 23% of the state remains in severe drought or greater.
