Window set for Monday flyover of South Arkansas cities

Arkansans should keep their eyes on the skies Monday, June 29, as the Arkansas National Guard carries out its “Fly Over Arkansas” exercise in celebration of the U.S. Semiquincentennial, the nation’s 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The flyover will feature an array of impressive military aircraft. Cities across Arkansas will have the opportunity to witness the event.

Arkadelphia is part of the flyover’s Southwest Arkansas route on Monday that includes cities from Benton to Mena to Texarkana. 

Residents of Benton, Hot Springs, Mount Ida, Mena, De Queen, Murfreesboro and Nashville should expect the flyover to take place between 11 a.m. and noon. Residents of Texarkana, Hope, Prescott, Arkadelphia and Malvern should expect the flyover to take place between noon and 12:30 p.m.
