This is a roundup of felony charges filed June 12-26, 2026, by the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office. Some defendants may also have misdemeanor charges against them, but most are not included here. The following names and charges, which are contained within public documents, are gathered from online court records available through ARCourts. Defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Here’s a rundown of felony cases filed in the past two weeks:
Incident with machete leads to arrest
Machetes are intended for bushwhacking, not intimidating people. Terry Lamont Slay learned this the hard way following a domestic disturbance, and now he’s facing prison time for an assault.
On May 1 Arkadelphia police were called to a Robin Lane residence for an incident involving a male armed with a machete. When an officer arrived the caller exited the residence and relayed that the suspect had just driven from the scene, and gave the direction of travel.
Other responding officers approaching the area observed the getaway vehicle as it exited Robin Lane southbound on North 10th Street. A traffic stop was conducted, and the occupants were ordered out of the vehicle.
Back at the Robin Lane residence, the caller identified the suspect as Terry Slay and further explained that she had been arguing with Slay when he went outside to retrieve a machete, re-entering the residence and standing outside her locked bedroom door and making threatening statements.
The caller was also able to show police video footage of a machete-wielding suspect walking toward the residence.
At the traffic stop, a female exited from the driver’s seat, and Slay exited from the rear passenger side. Consent was given to search the vehicle, allowing police to locate a machete in the back seat where Slay had sat. Slay, 52, was arrested during the traffic stop, telling police in an interview that he had only meant to scare the victim with the machete.
Bond was set at $40,000 during his first court appearance on May 4.
Slay, who lists a Little Rock address, is charged with Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member and Terroristic Threatening. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence enhancement given Slay’s status as a habitual offender. With the enhancements, each Class D felony carries a potential prison sentence of up to 12 years.
Repeat offender caught stealing booze in Arkadelphia
A Hope man with a knack for stashing liquor bottles in his pants got caught — again — stealing from Clark County retailers.
Dawon Charles Jackson, 56, was arrested May 1 following a brief investigation into reports of repeated shoplifting incidents from two Arkadelphia establishments.
On April 2, Arkadelphia police were called to Lucky Liquor, 3002 Pine St., for a shopliftings complaint. Management showed officers surveillance footage from March 26 of the suspect conceal five bottles of liquor in his pants and leave without paying for the libations, the value of which summed $454.
Based on prior interactions with the suspect, police promptly identified him as Dawon Jackson.
That same day, Walmart’s asset protection contacted police to report a repeat shoplifter involved in a pair of incidents on March 26 and April 2. On each occasion, Jackson allegedly stole at least five 30-packs of beer and exited the store. The value of the stolen beer and various other merchandise totaled $432.
Asset protection was able to identify Jackson as the suspect through the use of store surveillance footage.
Two days later, police were again called to Lucky Liquor, where the same suspect had concealed a bottle of liquor in his pants, paid for a case of beer, and left without paying for the $64 bottle of tequila.
Police note in an affidavit that Jackson was convicted of felony theft in 2025 and is currently on parole with the Arkansas Department of Community Corrections.
Subsequent to his arrest, bond was set at $30,000 during a first court appearance on May 4.
Jackson is charged with four counts of Theft of Property Subsequent Offense, each a Class D felony that carries a potential prison sentence of up to 6 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000; and Sale or Possession of Intoxicating Liquor Without a License, a Class A misdemeanor that carries a jail sentence of up to a year and/or a fine of up to $2,500.
Amity trespasser threatens to hunt down, kill cops
“I will hunt y’all down and you will never know it,” an Amity man allegedly muttered to lawmen as he was being hauled off to jail.
Steven Coy Walston, 50, was the sole suspect in a May 31 complaint of a trespasser. Amity police were called to a Johns Farm Road property, arriving to make contact with Walston near a residence that was under construction. Walston admitted that he had been inside the residence. He was then detained, and a search of his person yielded a small amount of marijuana, a switch blade and wire cutters.
As Walston was being arrested for transport to the county jail, he began “acting out of control,” hitting police car windows and making death threats toward the officers on scene. During transport to the jail, Walston allegedly named several officers — Tommy Waldrum, B.J. Johns, Wes Johns, Blake Forga and Wesley Kitchens — saying he would “sneak up and hunt them down, one by one” and kill them.
An affidavit notes that Walston has a lengthy criminal history and was on unsupervised probation at the time of his arrest, as well as a Suspended Imposition of Sentence for previous offenses.
Walston is charged with four counts of Terroristic Threatening and Breaking or Entering. Prosecutors are seeking a sentence enhancement given his status as a habitual offender. With the enhancements, each Class D felony carries a potential prison sentence of up to 15 years. Walston is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of Criminal Trespass, and one misdemeanor drug charge.
Bond was set at $50,000 during a first court appearance on June 5.
Burglar caught at scene, confesses to prior break-in
A residential burglary was an open and shut case for Arkadelphia police when the suspect was caught at the scene of the crime and confessed — not only to the present crime, but also that it wasn’t his first rodeo.
On May 2 police were called to a Cupp Drive residence for a report of an active burglary. The caller told dispatchers that the suspect was using a hammer to open a metal container.
Police arrived to find a broken window, along with a hammer and metal storage container on the property. While officers were at the scene they saw the suspect, matching the description relayed to police, as he stood on property belonging to the Arkadelphia Street Department. Officers made contact with the suspect, identified as Tyrin D. Miller, who admitted that he had broken into the residence.
Miller, 19, later said in a police interview that he had previously entered the residence unlawfully and returned again on the morning of May 2, when he removed a storage container to locate a firearm.
Miller is charged with two counts of Residential Burglary, each a Class B felony that carries a potential prison sentence of 5-20 years and/or a fine of up to $15,000.
Bond was set at $25,000 during his first court appearance on May 4.
Amity man arrested for chasing mom around town
Felony charges were filed against a 27-year-old Amity man who apparently chased his mother around with his vehicle, allegedly striking her car.
Peter James-Monroe “P.J.” Grafner was arrested May 25 after a 911 call was made saying he had been chasing his mother’s vehicle through the parking lot of Smitty’s Sports Stop and driving dangerously.
Grafner had left the scene prior to police arrival; however, another relative returned him to the store and he was placed in custody. The victim said Grafner, with his own vehicle facing hers, pressed the accelerator and pushed her vehicle backwards. Once he stopped and reversed, she was able to drive around him and get his young son out of his car and into hers, driving toward town with Grafner in pursuit.
Police were able to review video footage from various businesses on the Amity Square showing the incident.
A witness told police that he had seen Grafner driving dangerously toward the victim’s vehicle and almost striking her. Police wrestled able to locate Grafner’s vehicle at the Alpine Community Center, noting damage consistent with hitting his mother’s car.
Grafner would go on to provide a statement to police admitting to chasing his mother with his son in her vehicle.
Grafner is charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault on a Family or Household Member and Endangering the Welfare of a Minor, both Class D felonies.
Bond was set at $25,000 at his first court appearance on May 27.
Traffic stop leads to felony drug arrest
On May 9 a state trooper was patrolling Arkansas Highway 8 near Alpine when he clocked a speeding vehicle traveling at 72 mph in a posted 55 mph zone. A traffic stop was conducted, and the driver was identified as Brittany Booth, 39, of Amity.
Booth was unable to provide a driver’s license, insurance or registration. The trooper smelled marijuana, and a check of Booth’s information through a crime database revealed that she was wanted in Montgomery County. The trooper returned to Booth’s vehicle and confronted her about the pot smell. She surrendered a small amount of marijuana from her person, along with a plastic bag containing methamphetamine.
She was arrested and transported to the county jail.
Bond was set at $15,000 during a first court appearance on May 12.
Booth is charged with Possession of a Schedule I/II Controlled Substance, a Class D felony punishable by up to 6 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000. She’s also charged with misdemeanor drug possession for the marijuana.
Pine Bluff man wanted in Clark County for missed court date
A Pine Bluff man arrested in 2025 failed to show for a mandatory appearance in Clark County Circuit Court, opening a second felony case against the man.
Othello Johnson, 63, failed to show up for a court appearance on Nov. 4, 2025. A warrant for his arrest was issued on June 15, 2026.
In addition to the felony Failure to Appear charge, Johnson faces two counts of felony drug possession charges following his September arrest by a Caddo Valley officer.
