AHS seniors to turn tassels at May 16 graduation

Arkadelphia High School will graduate approximately 150 seniors on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Duke Wells Gymnasium on the campus of Henderson State University, Principal Callie Hunley announced.

The ceremony begins at 10 a.m.

The Summa Cum Laude speech will be given by Amelia Price. Ms. Price is the daughter of Michelle and Mark Price. She is a four-year member of the award-winning Arkadelphia High School Band. Amelia is also a member of FCA and the National Honor Society. She is a four-year Badger Scholar.

The seniors chose Steve Patterson, English Teacher, to deliver the faculty challenge, which will be responded to by the 2025-26 Student Council President, Isabel Ann Clark.

Parents of those who achieve Summa cum laude graduates (GPA of 4.001 or better and a composite ACT score of 21 or better with no sub-scores lower than 19), Magna cum laude (GPA of 3.750 to 4.000 and a composite ACT score of 20 or better with no sub score lower than 19), Cum laude (GPA of 3.500 to 3.749 and a composite ACT score of 19 or better with no sub score lower than 19), and/or Advanced Diploma status will present medallions to their children who have earned these distinctions.

Summa Cum Laude graduates include Isabel Ann Clark, Blakely Michael Davis, Ellie Elizabeth Echols, Lance Christopher Gulley, Annie Jocelyn Hardin, Ava Fae Haycox, Christian Renee Hunter, Timothy Andrew LeVar, Morgan Elizabeth Lewis, Katelyn Elise Manning, Jude Benham Manning, Thomas Hunter Miller, Seth Immanuel Molinari, Lillan Jade Pike, Mattie Joyce Powell, Amelia Grace Price, Destinee Ajaya Seabrooks-Roberson, Emilie Ann Renee Taylor, Dani Elizabeth Thomason, and McKenzie Korryn Yeagle.

Senior class officers will direct the Welcome, the Pledge of Allegiance, the introductions of Price and Patterson, and the closing. Officers include Trace Omar Young, Senior Class President; Christian Renee Hunter, Senior Class Vice President; Clark Austin Wingfield, Senior Class Treasurer; Kaylen Jalize Beard, Senior Class Secretary; and Taylen Amir Smith, Senior Class Reporter. 

Amelia Grace Price will lead the Alma Mater.

Commencement will be opened by the AHS JROTC Color Guard. The AHS Band, under the direction of Mr. Larry Brown, will play the processional and the alma mater. Diplomas will be awarded by Ms. Nikki Thomas, Superintendent of the Arkadelphia Public School District, and Principal Hunley. Assisting with the diplomas will be Mr. Trent Smith, AHS Assistant Principal, and Mr. Garrett Garner, Dean of Students.

Escorts for the Class of 2026 will be juniors who have earned the top grade points and include the following: Madilyn Almand, Carson Brawley, Ezra Campbell, Anabelle Davis, Josh Greenwich, Henry Harrell, Eden Heard, David Huber, Hayleigh Lynn, Carly Martin, Laney Metcalf, Reagan Mills, Brylee Russey, and Spencer Seel.
