Darrell Edward Shaw, age 80, of Sherwood, passed from this life on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at his home. He was born June 13, 1945, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Merlin and Ruthie Francis Shaw.
Darrell was a 1965 graduate of Arkadelphia High School. He was a United States Navy veteran. Darrell was the manager of bridge maintenance with Missouri Pacific Railroad and then Union Pacific after their merger. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sherwood. Darell enjoyed camping, being outdoors and most of all spending time with his family and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harvey Joe Shaw.
Survivors are his wife, Judy Shaw of Sherwood, one son, Mark Shaw (Jessica) of Sherwood, two daughters, Robyn Shaw Mahoney of Sherwood and Jessica Draper (Phillip) of Sherwood, one brother, Billy Shaw (Linda) of Hot Springs, four grandchildren, Devin Shaw, Natalie Shaw, Houston Shaw and Fenix Draper, and four great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Shaw, Savannah Shaw, Kimber Shaw and Rebekah Shaw.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro.Jerry Billson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
