Going into January 2026, there were 332 people listed as Clark County inmates by the Arkansas Department of Corrections website.
There was no change in the number of inmates since the December report. The inmates are distributed among several institutions throughout the state.
There are 22 Clark County inmate serving a life sentence or life without parole, and one Garland County inmate on death row who served probation in Clark County in the 1980s.
The total includes 307 men and 25 women. There are 170 black inmates, 157 white inmates and five of other races.
The following Clark County inmates have a parole- or transfer-eligible date in January 2026, although there are several factors that could affect any individual release for months or years.
John L. Anderson, 43, is on the Garland County Waiting List to serve a 2-year sentence. Anderson’s current sentence history includes an October 2025 conviction in Garland County for possession of a firearm by a certain person – probation revocation. He has prior convictions in Clark County for charges of criminal mischief (2007), residential burglary (2012), domestic battery (2012), and aggravated assault on a family or household member (2014).
Wesley L. Buford, 47, is serving 40 years at the Grimes Unit in Newport. Buford’s current sentence history includes a 2019 conviction for charges of possession with purpose to deliver methamphetamine/cocaine 2-10g – habitual offender, possession with purpose to deliver a Schedule VI controlled substance 4 oz-25 lbs – habitual offender, fleeing – habitual offender, 4 counts of aggravated assault – habitual offender, and possession of drug paraphernalia – habitual offender. Court records show that Buford led an Arkansas State Trooper on a high-speed chase from Caddo Valley through Arkadelphia, tossing drugs from his car window along the way and ultimately crashing his vehicle into a South 12th Street mobile home, where a male and three juveniles were outside when the crash occurred.
Lorie Cogburn, 51, is serving 12 years at the McPherson Unit in Newport for a 2024 conviction of permitting child abuse.
Robert Crain, 75, is serving 8 years at the Wrightsville Unit. Crain’s current prison history includes 2 counts of 2nd-degree sexual assault. He was sentenced in March 2025.
Anna L. Davis, 41, is serving 5 years at the McPherson Unit. Davis’s current sentence history includes a pair of 2022 convictions out of Pulaski County for the charge of failure to register as a sex offender, and a July 2025 conviction out of Pike County for failing to register as a sex offender – filing false paperwork or documents. Davis has prior prison sentence history in Clark County, where she was charged in 2008 with 2nd-degree sexual assault and engaging a child in sexually explicit conduct.
Hannah D. Green, 32, is serving 3 years at the McPherson Unit. Green’s current prison sentence history includes a July 2025 conviction for the charge of 1st-degree criminal mischief – probation revocation.
Armony Johnson, 26, is serving 7 years at the Cummins Modular Unit for a 2021 conviction for the charge of aggravated robbery. According to court documents, Johnson phoned in a Pizza Hut order to be delivered to his Pecan Street residence, where he robbed the delivery driver at gunpoint and pistol-whipped him in the head several times.
Gregory L. Marks, 43, is serving 10 years with Benton Work Release. Marks’s current prison sentence history includes a 2023 conviction for the charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia in a 2023 case, and aggravated assault on a family or household member and breaking or entering – probation revocation, habitual offender in a 2019 case.
Damon A. Young, 35, is serving 8 years at the Tucker Unit. Young’s current prison sentence history includes a 2024 conviction for the charges of residential burglary, theft of property, and first-degree criminal mischief, as well as a separate conviction out of Hot Spring County for the charge of theft of property.
