Information is gathered from public records held by the Clark County Circuit Clerk’s Office, online real estate records via actdatascout.com and the Arkansas Secretary of State. The Arkadelphian includes names of grantees, grantors, transaction price and property description when available, and does not withhold names. A variety of factors, including improvements made to a home or property, are considered in real estate prices that may increase from when the seller bought the property.
The top real estate deal in the past two weeks was the $475,000 sale of 39 acres of timber and a pair of 19,000-SF poultry houses on Piney Ridge Road in the Dobyville community. John and Hannah Cornelius of Prescott bought the property from Donna and the late Charles Wingfield of Okolona. The Wingfields bought the land only in a $40,000 deal in 2006.
West of Hollywood, on Arkansas Highway 26 at its junction with Hignite Trail, 160 acres of timber sold to the Gurdon-based Griffin Timberland Investments LLC. Griffin bought the land for $280,000 from Conroe, Texas, resident Martha Foerster, et al.
On Lockie Road south of Curtis, Ronald Harrell of Gurdon bought a 1,944-SF home and 36 acres abutting the South Boat Ditch to the north. Harrell is buying the property for $272,000. Former owners Ignacio and Maria Aguirre of Okolona bought the place in 2007 for $158,000.
For $236,620 Jerry and Holly Brown of Marion bought 61 acres of timber joining their existing 4-acre property and homesite on Equine Rescue Road west of Alpine. Selling the acreage is the Amity-based Barksdale Family LLC.
West of Interstate 30 from Gum Springs, a 1,792-SF brick home and 5 acres on Echols Road sold for $235,000 to Madison Cason. Sellers are Paul and Veronica McCollett.
Briana and Phillip Freeman bought a 2,183-SF brick home on Pinewood Drive, Arkadelphia, for $225,000. Sellers are Jeffrey and Sharon Plyler, co-trustees of the Plyler Family Trust. The Plylers bought the place in 2021 for $108,000.
On Arkadelphia’s Lynwood Drive, John and Karen Davis bought a 1,733-SF brick home for $220,000. Seller is Wanda Runyan of Hot Springs.
Also on Lynwood Drive, a 1,660-SF brick home sold for $185,000. Buyer is Morgan Rogers. Sellers Tanner and Michelle Eads of Magnolia bought the property in 2022 for $190,000.
On Curry Road in the Kansas community near Gurdon, McMillan Land & Cattle Trust acquired 80 acres of timber from the Mollie McMillan Revocable Trust by way of quitclaim deed and for the consideration of $125,000.
