The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

Thursday, Oct. 16

Felony incident still under investigation: Breaking or Entering, 900 block of O’Connell Street

Monday, Oct. 20
9:45 a.m.
An officer advised a man on how to obtain a no contact order against an ex-lover whom he claimed posted false accusations against him on a dating app.

10 a.m.
A resident of Carpenter Hill Apartments, 670 S. 6th St., complained that a neighbor keeps staring at her and the company she invites over. She was advised of affidavit procedure.

Tuesday, Oct. 21
10:30 a.m.
Administration at Nightingale Nursing Home, 2701 Twin Rivers Dr., reported the ongoing theft of several items from the kitchen. Recently installed surveillance cameras captured a former employee enter the facility empty-handed and leave with a liquid-filled pitcher. The administrator was informed that a report would be on file, and was advised how to proceed with criminal charges and how to trespass the suspect from the premises.

5:47 a.m.
A woman reported a fraudulent CashApp transaction, likely made by a relative. She was advised of warrant procedures.

Wednesday, Oct. 8

Employees at Little Mo’s Liquor reported two named suspects shoplifted a fifth of booze.

Thursday, Oct. 9
7:30 a.m.
A Smithton Road, Gurdon, man reported someone shot and killed his horse in the pen behind his home. The case was turned over to investigators.

Tuesday, Oct. 14

A Gurdon man reported a known female had been harassing him the past several months.

Wednesday, Oct. 15

An Okolona woman reported someone forged her signature on a counterfeit check written out for $2,500, then made a mobile deposit with the stolen funds.

Deputies were dispatched to the 900 block of West Thompson Street, Amity, for a breaking and entering and assault in progress. En route, they were advised the perpetrator had left the property. The suspect, identified as April Gibson Poor, 46, of Waldron, called 911 to say she was at the Dollar General waiting for an officer. Police spoke with the complainants, who advised Poor had showed up uninvited and ultimately entered the home and jumped on the two residents, then left with items from the home. After taking Poor’s statement, she was transported to the county jail on charges of criminal trespass and third-degree battery.

Thursday, Oct. 16

A Gurdon man reported damage to his hunting blind on Foundation Road when a road was being bulldozed on the property. 

Wednesday, Oct. 22

A resident of Highway 67, Gurdon, reported someone broke into her vehicle and stole her purse containing four credit cards and personal identification cards, as well as a bank bag containing about $50 in quarters.

Sunday, Oct. 26
10:45 a.m.
A deputy was summoned to a West Walnut Street residence in Gurdon for a complaint that a dog catcher had been bitten by a dog. Animal Control had responded to the residence earlier that same morning for dogs being unleashed and out of their pen. The dogs’ owner, Summer Vanlandingham, 34, was cited for a city ordinance pertaining to nuisance animals. Without proof of vaccination, both dogs were turned over for a 10-day quarantine at the city pound.
