The following incidents were gathered from reports filed July 6-12, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking.
Arkadelphia Police Department
Tuesday, July 7
9 a.m.
A woman reported falling victim to internet fraud, as she called what she believed to be a gas utility company, and gave the person her Social Security number and debit card information for what was supposed to be a deposit on her account. Realizing later that an additional charge was pending she investigated further, learning from the actual utility company that the transaction was fraudulent. The victim was advised to contact the Attorney General’s Office.
2:20 p.m.
Officers responded to a South 22nd Street residence for a follow-up investigation of 11 unregistered pit bulls being housed on the property. The animals were willingly surrendered to Animal Control.
9:11 p.m.
Police were called to Brookshire’s for a complaint of customers that would not leave the property. Officers arrived to find two groups gathered at the entrance yelling and pointing at each other. The confrontation began when a customer, returning to the store with others and making death threats toward personnel, blamed store associates for pocketing his EBT card and a large sum of cash, which he said he’d dropped near the registers. Once the dust settled and the parties were dispersed, three customers were trespassed from the store, and surveillance footage reviewed later showed the customer place his money and card into his pocket.
Wednesday, July 8
2:55 a.m.
Patrolling downtown, an officer observed a subject removing items from the donation dock of the Beehive Thrift Store. Confronted of the allegation, the suspect, Edwin Darnell Langston, 38, admitted that the trash bag he was carrying contained stolen items. A search subsequent to his arrest yielded THC vapes and various drug paraphernalia. Langston was arrested on charges of property theft, possession of marijuana and three counts of possessing drug paraphernalia. Police returned the stolen items to the donations dock.
7:53 a.m.
Police were notified of an abandoned dog in a crate near Dollar General on North 10th Street. A witness said he saw a person place a note on the crate before entering an apartment at 1280 N. 10th St. Officers made contact with a Malik Middleton there and learned that a sibling had instructed him that. Morning to leave the dog by the road and place a note reading “For Grab.” While speaking with officers Middleton phoned the sibling, who was heard on speakerphone saying, “I told you not to let anyone see you” and “I don’t want the dog, take the dog.” Animal Control arrived and took possession of the animal. Middleton was cited for cruelty to animals. Police found the sibling, Ariana Middleton, 27, and additionally cited her for the offense, as well as violating city ordinances pertaining to vaccination requirements.
2:42 p.m.
Officers were called to a South 25th Street residence for a landlord’s complaint of an unwanted tenant. They arrived to find the female tenant, Jamee Terrell, in the company of a male with an active no contact order against her. Dispatchers also advised that Terrell had a warrant from Clark County District Court. Terrell was arrested for both offenses. The landlord was advised he would still need to proceed with the court system for legal eviction.
Thursday, July 9
10:15 a.m.
A woman reported receiving a threatening voicemail from a known individual.
7:41 p.m.
Police were called to L&J Auto, 1904 Pine St., for a complaint that a former employee had driven off in a car on the dealership’s lot on June 29. Aware just this morning that the car was gone, the complainant said he contacted the suspect, who admitted taking the vehicle and said he left it at Country Club Villa, 2551 Country Club Road. The vehicle was located undamaged at that location, and its owner took possession. No arrest was made.

Management at Family Dollar reported illegal dumping, likely by a known suspect who left packaging labels bearing his address.
Friday, July 10

3:37 p.m.
Police were called to a Hartford Drive residence for the unattended death of a 51-year-old male. Residents of the home reported last speaking to the man the previous night, and one relative noted he had been passing out and complaining of fatigue lately. Officers observed no signs of foul play. Williams Funeral Home took possession of the body.
5:05 p.m.
The theft of a Stihl BG56 gasoline leaf blower was reported at the 1100 block of Haddock Street.
5:36 p.m.
Officers responded to a domestic dispute at the 700 block of South 10th Street. The parties agreed to separate for the evening.
9:04 p.m.
Police investigated a report of shots fired in the area of 12th and Pine streets, finding no physical evidence of such an incident.
Saturday, July 11
A female reported being harassed by a known male.
10:03 p.m.
Police responded to a complaint of possible domestic abuse at a North 10th Street residence. Police spoke with both parties, observing no physical evidence of abuse.

Police took a report of a missing adult at a Center Street residence. The 39-year-old Schizophrenic man returned home about an hour later.

Monday, July 6
5:52 p.m.
A deputy was called to the 1600 block of Highway 84, Amity, for a complaint of a known person trespassing on the caller’s property. The trespasser’s vehicle was on the property, but the trespasser was nowhere around.
Tuesday, July 7
6:13 p.m.
Conducting a traffic stop at 5th and Walnut streets on a vehicle with unconfirmed insurance, a deputy was greeted at the driver’s window by the smell of marijuana and observed that the driver, Lavery-Markus Shepherd, had a large bulge in his cheek. As Shepherd was being patted down outside the vehicle he spat a large wad of a green substance on the ground near the deputy’s vehicle. Shepherd, 27, of Conroe, Texas, denied spitting anything out, and was detained. Walking back to Shepherd’s vehicle for a search, the deputy followed a trail of small pieces of marijuana leading to the driver’s door. Inside the vehicle the officer located more small pieces of pot, as well as marijuana cigars and a bag of marijuana, which was found in the trunk. Shepherd was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence.
