A Louisiana man died early Sunday morning, Sept. 28, 2025, while walking on a highway in South Arkansas.
According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, 46-year-old Travis L. Johnson, of Monroe, was walking in the center of two lanes on U.S. Highway 167 in Sheridan when he was struck by a northbound 1999 Mercury.
Johnson was killed, and his body was taken to the Grant County Coroner’s Office. The report does not name the driver of the vehicle.
State Trooper John D. Crow noted in his investigation that the crash happened at 4:15 a.m. under clear skies and on dry roads.
