Gurdon mom writes children’s book on feeding aversions

Keyundra Thompson, of Gurdon, Arkansas, announced the pre-sale launch of a children’s book titled “Zaire’s Big Feeling About Feeding.”

The 29-year-old single mother said the book, which is being released ahead of Autism Awareness Month, highlights her son’s journey with feeding aversions. “It’s also here to educate people on children with sensory aversions, provide therapeutic support while also teaching the importance of a rewards system, and to promote awareness for therapies, early intervention, and neurodivergence,” Thompson said.

The special education paraprofessional identifies herself as a special needs mom, blogger, poet and author who is also a former ABA therapist.

Additionally, Thompson announced the full launch of her first digest publication, a mini book that highlights her home church, New Mt. Zion Baptist Church, as the staple it has always been in Southwest Arkansas. “I was also blessed to pay tribute to some members who have been spiritual and cultural trailblazers, and touched my life,” Thompson added.
