Ola Merle Wingfield

Ola Merle (Selph) Wingfield, age 89, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia.  She was born November 4, 1935, in Sparkman, the daughter of the late George Allen and Wilma Estelle Rogers Selph.  

Merle was a 1953 graduate of Sparkman High School.  She worked beside her husband, the late Austin Wingfield at State Farm Insurance in Arkadelphia for many years.  Merle was a member of First United Methodist Church.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Austin Wingfield, two sisters, Eunice Bettis and Lavelle Taylor.

Merle is survived by one son, Roger Wingfield (Kadre) of Arkadelphia, two grandsons, Clark and Layne Wingfield both of Arkadelphia, one brother, Carroll Selph of Gurdon, two sisters, Margie Nutt and Judy Hollingsworth both of Sparkman.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at First United Methodist Church in Arkadelphia with Dr. Kyle Peters and Rev. Zeke Allen officiating.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM Tuesday until service time at the church.

Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers are Blake Batson, Dave Fenocchi, Joel Hollingsworth, Marty Wilkerson, David Wilkerson and Mike Wilkerson.
