Earl Glen Finley, 71, lifelong owner and operator, VERY independent trucker, departed this earth on his final dispatch, Monday, February 6, 2023. He reached his final destination, Heaven, immediately safe and on time.
He was born January 17, 1952, to Louie S. and Dovie White Finley of Poyen, Arkansas. Earl graduated from Poyen High School in 1970. Shortly thereafter Earl bought his first big truck, a 1973 International Cabover and began coast to coast trucking as a “chicken hauler”, a slang term in the produce business. In the coming 48 years, he hauled nearly everything you could put on or in a truck. He served as a contract trucker with Fike’s Trucking of Hope, Arkansas for 29 years, flat bedding. Earl was known in hundreds of old-fashioned truck stops, Ed’s, Arnold’s, White’s and Southfork from coast to coast by his first name. After graduating to Peterbilt and Kenworth he fulfilled his lifelong dream of traveling all over the United States trucking.
Earl was a proud member of Southfork Baptist church, the NRA and the OOIDA. He enjoyed hunting and his horses. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter, Kacie Finley and brothers, L.D. Finley, Eldridge Finley and Horace Finley.
Survivors are sons, Brandon Finley (Jennifer) of Arkadelphia and Juston Finley of Malvern; daughters, Allison Weatherly (Chase) of Bearden, Andi Rodemeyer (Junior) of Benton and Alana Bade (Aaron) of Iowa; brother, Melvin Finley (Linda) of Malvern; grandchildren, Hannah Weatherly, Hunter Weatherly, Aubrey Bade, Levi Bade, Lucas Bade, Brooklyn Bade, Emilie Taylor, Mikey Taylor, Sarah Grace Finley and Reece Rodemeyer and numerous nieces and nephews.
