Mark Weems

Mark David Weems, age 54, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Wednesday January 8, 2025, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Arkadelphia. He was born on September 2, 1970, in Harrison, the son of Sidney Archie and Barbara Ann Lee Weems.

Mark was a 1988 graduate of Gurdon High School and attended Diesel Mechanic training in Texas.  He worked as a boiler operator and in maintenance for Hostess.  Mark loved fishing and hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Sidney Weems, and his nephew, Brandon Weems.

Mark is survived by his mother, Barbara Ann Weems, his wife, Christina Bryant Weems, three sons, Cole Weems (Shelby) of Arkadelphia, Cody Weems (Kendra) of Okolona, and Dylan Weems (Erin) of Arkadelphia, one daughter, Amber Hughes (J.J.) of Amity, three brothers, Gary Weems of Gurdon, Randy Weems (Tammy) of Arkadelphia, Jonathan Weems (Stephanie) of Gurdon, one sister, Karen Hurley (Larry), eleven grandchildren, Landon Johnson, Cason Weems, Tristen Hughes, Layken Hughes, Wynn Blankenship, Eli Weems, Lawson Weems, Dani Hughes, Emma Kate Weems, Wesley Weems, and Natalee Hughes.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday January 13, 2025, at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Chad Cox officiating.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Pallbearers are Toby Childres, Jimmy Joe Hughes, Tyler Childres, Brant Weems, Bradley Weems, and Paul Williams.
