
Tara Rollins, director of the Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce, announced her resignation from the position June 28, 2024.
An an email sent Friday morning, Rollins said she was returning to banking, where her “heart and joy truly lie.”
Rollins will be joining Southern Bancorp’s loan department. She was hired to lead the chamber in March 2023 after a nearly 10-year stint at Two Rivers Federal Credit Union in Arkadelphia.
“This decision was not easy,” Rollins said of her decision to resign. “My time with the chamber has been incredibly rewarding.
“I have had the privilege of working alongside each of you, witnessing firsthand the dedication and passion you bring to our community and your business,” Rollins wrote. “Your support and encouragement have been invaluable to me, and for that, I am deeply grateful.”
Shelley Short, CEO of the Arkadelphia Regional Economic Development Alliance, added that Rollins “made an impact and wonderful contribution to our team. We will miss her and wish her the very best in her new role.”
Short said the search for the next chamber director will begin in coming weeks.
