Sanders declares Clark, neighboring counties as disaster areas after January flooding

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders on May 6, 2024, declared Clark, Dallas and Nevada counties as disaster areas following severe storms and flooding that affected Arkansas on Jan. 22.

Sanders’s executive action says the weather event “continues to cause dangers, hardships and suffering” for the affected areas.

The South Arkansas counties are among 16 throughout the state declared as disaster areas.
