Clark County food pantry recipient of $10K gift

Submitted information

The Thanksgiving holidays were made a bit easier for local families due to the generosity of the Roy and Christine Sturgis Charitable and Educational Trust.

The Clark County Ecumenical Food Pantry was the recipient of a $10,000 gift to purchase food. The money will be of vital assistance as the cost of purchasing meat has become increasingly challenging. Because of the Sturgis Trust, the Ecumenical Food Pantry can fulfill its goal of offering families a bit of relief during the holidays.

Over 425 families sought food assistance during the recent November food distribution. The December need for food is expected to be great as well. Members of the Clark County Ecumenical Food Pantry expressed both gratitude and relief that this vital source of food for hungry families can both continue and be enhanced through the Sturgis Trust’s willingness to support the efforts to help our neighbors.
