Christopher Leroy Tyler, 29, was arrested on the morning of Thursday, Nov. 23, following a traffic stop in Arkadelphia. Tyler was wanted for a warrant in Miller County, where TexARKana police say he was involved in the March 19 shooting death of a 24-year-old man, Michael Clark. Tyler was one of five suspects named in the homicide.
Arkadelphia Police Chief Jason “Shorty” Jackson said his department received a tip Wednesday that Tyler was staying in Arkadelphia, and made a traffic stop on his vehicle the next morning on Pine Street. Tyler was arrested without incident, Jackson said.
Tyler was booked into the Clark County Detention Center and extradited to Miller County within a few hours, Sheriff Jason Watson said.
Press reports say that a final suspect in the case, Tamarion McCoy, remains at large and should be considered armed and dangerous.
The shooting which left Clark dead also sent a 6-year-old child to a Texarkana hospital for treatment to a gunshot wound to a leg.
