The one day every dog in Arkadelphia looks forward to every year is right around the corner

Parks and Recreation’s annual “Doggie Dip” is set for Saturday, September 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The Doggie Dip is a staple for the City of Arkadelphia’s Aquatic Park. At the end of every pool season, the Aquatic Park staff opens its gates to four-legged friends only.
“The Doggie Dip is one of our favorite days at the Aquatic Park,” Parks and Recreation Director Stuart Tapson said. “We get to provide area dog owners with something new to do with their pet, and we have fun seeing all of the different kinds of dogs play at the pool.”
Not only can the dogs enjoy a pool day, but dog owners can get their pets up-to-date on their vaccinations. South Arkansas Veterinary Hospital will be on-site offering the following vaccines at the following prices:
Rabies Vaccine – $10
DHPP Vaccine – $20
DHPP with Lepto Vaccine – $30
Bordetella Vaccine – $25
Heartworm Test – $20
“For a lot of people, dogs are another member of the family,” Tapson said. “Whether they come for the shot clinic or to watch their furry friend swim in the pool, we hope all of our residents have fun in the sun on September 9.”
All dogs must be up-to-date on their vaccinations to attend the Doggie Dip. Residents will not be allowed to swim in the pool on the day of the Doggie Dip. The last day for residents to swim at the Aquatic Park will be Monday, September 5.
