A northbound motorist traveling on Highway 53 between Gurdon and South Fork escaped this scene unscathed Tuesday morning after leaving the highway and landing the sedan in a flooded roadside ditch near Parr Road. Heavy rains swept through the area late Monday night and into Tuesday morning, providing some much-needed relief from the oppressive triple-digit temperatures of late.
