Semi collision near Antoine kills teen driver

A juvenile was killed Friday evening in a collision with an 18-wheeler.

The minor, 17-year-old Carson Hill, of Delight, was driving west in a 2020 Chevy on state Highway 26 and crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming 1989 Mack truck, according to a fatal crash summary. The driver of the Mack reportedly attempted to brake in an attempt to avoid the collision, and Hill tried getting back into his lane but the attempt was fruitless, according to the report.

The driver of the Mack was identified as Terry McKinnon, 56, of Prescott. He and his passenger, 62-year-old Kennth McKinnon, were reportedly injured in the collision and transported to Baptist Health Medical Center-Arkadelphia with unknown injuries.

Hill’s body was transported to Welch Funeral Home in Arkadelphia.

The accident happened at 5:20 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2023, under clear skies. Road conditions were listed as dry.
