John Shannon “Shan” Holloway, age 56, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Thursday July 20, 2023, at his home. He was born on August 9, 1966, in El Dorado, the son of Johnny Mac and Juanita Greene Holloway.
Shan was a 1984 graduate of Arkadelphia High School and attended Henderson State University. He worked for many years alongside his father at Holloway Insulation. Shan loved sitting in the deer stand for countless hours, chasing a big thunder bird through the woods, calling a flock of ducks, and spending time with his family and friends. He was a member of Third Street Baptist Church.
Shan was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Mac Holloway, his grandparents, Cecil and Holly Holloway and Ted and Cinderella Greene, aunts. Patsy and Sue, and Uncle Steve.
Survivors are his lifelong companion, Leslie Holloway, his daughter, Hannah Shaw (Darren) of Arkadelphia, his pride and Joy, Steeley Anne Shaw of Arkadelphia, His mother, Juanita Greene Walton (Lee) of Gurdon, one sister, Laura Beth Hedgepeth of Vilonia, one half-sister, Cindy Dees of Norphlet, four nieces Rachel Smith, Holly Hedgepeth, Leslie Dees and Lynsee Duncan, two nephews, Jonathan Dees, and Holden Hedgepeth, two aunts, Phyllis and Charladean and his loyal dog, “Chuck”.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Cedar Grove Church in Arkadelphia with Bro James Guthrie officiating. Visitation is from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Monday night at Welch Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers are Mike McCauley, Andy Neel, Randy Dixon, Jay Derby, Brad Chitwood, Mark Hayes, Tony Bell and Homer Don Collins.
