Cheryl Ann Plyler, age 71, of Arkadelphia, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023. She was born on April 8, 1952, in Fort Chaffee, Arkansas, the daughter of Fredrick Austin Barbour and Mary Elizabeth Dixon Barbour.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Bruce Barbour. On February 5, 1972, Cheryl married the true love of her life, Jonas Plyler, Jr.
She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Murfreesboro. Cheryl enjoyed all types of flowers, watching hummingbirds, canning, family get-togethers, shopping, and traveling, especially going on cruises. Her favorite holiday was Christmas because she loved picking the perfect gifts for her family, especially for her children and grandchildren.
Above all, Cheryl was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother who dearly loved her family with all of her heart and her greatest joy in life was spending time with them, cooking, and taking care of their needs. Cheryl will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. While our hearts are breaking that our precious “Cheryl” “Mom” “Nana Cheryl” had to leave us so soon, we all take great comfort in knowing that she is no longer in pain, has been healed and made whole again, and most importantly, we will see her again someday soon.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Jonas Plyler, Jr. of Arkadelphia; her four sons and daughters-in-law, J.W. and Kim Plyler of Mineral Springs, Keith and Lisa Plyler of Mustang, Oklahoma, Daniel and Catherine Plyler of Arkadelphia and Adam and Amber Plyler of Batesville; ten grandchildren, Chase Morgan, Courtney Plyler, Nathan Plyler, Hannah Faske, Mac Green, Belle Plyler, Colton Plyler, Abigail Plyler, Bennett Plyler and Annelise Plyler; two brothers, Dennis Barbour and his wife, Irene, of Fort Smith and John Barbour of California; one sister, Janis Perryman and her husband, Danny, of Fort Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, July 6, 2023, at the Park Hill Baptist Church in Arkadelphia with Bro. Glenn Green officiating.
Interment was in the DeGray Cemetery under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home, Glenwood.
