For the Week in Clark County History, we combed through bound copies of the Daily Siftings Herald to choose some front-page news from editions dating 10, 20 and 30 years ago.

10 years ago: 2013

Following unconfirmed reports of a Bigfoot sighting at a recent Okolona City Council meeting, central Arkansas Bigfoot field researcher and investigator “Tal Branco” paid a visit to the Gurdon Rotary Club for a program on the mythical creature.

Bismarck youngster Jacob Sampson, 10, was featured for helping out children admitted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital by collecting and donating hundreds of boxes of crayons and coloring books to the hospital. His newest venture was collecting bicycles to give to children in the tornado-stricken Oklahoma town of Moore.

Arkadelphia police arrested four young men in connection with a ring of car thefts. In total, six vehicles were stolen, one of which was set ablaze.

20 years ago: 2003

Local machinist Keith Craft was featured in an article for building a special 1971 Ford Falcon engine for famed actor Eric Bana (“The Hulk”)

Local libraries were not immune to a recently passed state law requiring certain books to be placed in an adults-only section.

30 years ago: 1993
