Ever wondered how to preserve photographs? What about grandma’s wedding dress? Ouachita Baptist University’s Public History program has an upcoming workshop titled Caring for Your Family Treasurers.

This free, three-hour workshop covers the basics of preservation for a wide variety of formats that we all have in our family archives. The workshop will cover things like:

• Preservation, handling and safe storage of paper documents, photographs and artifacts
• Recommended cleaning methods for paper and artifacts
• What to do with broken, torn or damaged documents, photographs and artifacts
• Working with conservators

Registration is free but is limited to 30 people. Boxed lunches will be served to workshop participants.

The workshop will be held Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m. until noon at the Arkadelphia First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall. Pre-registration begins April 3. Register through Eventbrite or by calling Lisa Speer at 870-245-5332.
