No. 15 HSU takes top spot at Oak Tree Invite

EDMOND, Okla. – No. 15 Henderson State claims back-to-back tournament wins after claiming first place at the Oak Tree Invitational with a 10-over 850. Nathan Cossement paced the team with a 1-under 209 across three rounds.
 
The Reddies finished two strokes better than second-place No. 2 Oklahoma Christian, who were also the hosts at the Par 70 Oak Tree Country Club. HSU ended the invitational well ahead of GAC foes Arkansas Tech and Southern Nazarene, who placed 12th and 13th, respectively.
 
Cossement logged the most birdies over the 54 holes with 15 and had four in the final round to end the day 2-over 72.  Miller Harris had the best score of the day for Henderson, carding a 2-under 68 with four birdies, and concluded the tournament 2-over 212, tied for sixth place.
 
Alex Hadden and Ethan Wilkins both finished tied for 13th place with scores of 6-over 216. Hadden recorded five birdies in the third round and had three on the back nine, while Wilkins tallied three on the final 18 holes.
 
Rounding out the team, Cooper Williams had a final score of 22-over 232 and placed 51st in the 85-player field. No. 15 Henderson State travels to Pensacola, Florida, for its next round of golf on Monday, Apr. 3, to participate in the Argonaut Invitational.
