RUSSELLVILLE  Ouachita Baptist University junior kicker Gabe Goodman has been named the Great American Conference special teams player of the week after posting a record-breaking performance this past Saturday in a 48-7 road win over Northwestern Oklahoma State.

Goodman stayed busy in the win over the Rangers. Not only did he kickoff nine times with five touchbacks, he was also responsible for 12 of Ouachita’s 48 points in the win.

The Arkadelphia native went 6-for-6 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goals, including a school-record 55-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. He finalized the game’s scoring with a 27-yard field goal in the final minute.

Goodman’s 55-yard field goal was the second longest in Great American Conference history. He is now a perfect 3-for-3 on field goals this season, and also remains perfect on extra points at 30-for-30.

This is the fourth time in his career that Goodman has been named the conference player of the week, the last coming after a game-winning 53-yard field goal to beat Henderson State in the Battle of the Ravine the 2021 season finale.
