The City of Arkadelphia will host a grand opening celebration for the new terminal building at the Arkadelphia Municipal Airport on Thursday, February 23 at 11 a.m.

Known around the region for its quality service and southern hospitality, the new terminal building is 1,600 square feet and features a large lobby, pilot’s room, conference room, office area and full bathroom.

“It is a huge upgrade from the 600 square foot building we had,” Airport Manager Michael Sellers said. “We are so grateful and we cannot wait for people to come see it.”

The project took just under a year to complete and cost $650,000, of which $400,000 was funded through two Arkansas Department of Aeronautics grants.

The grand opening celebration will give way to an open house which will conclude at 1 p.m.

The Arkadelphia Municipal Airport is located at 2 Airport Drive in Arkadelphia, Arkansas.
