Myron Shorts

Myron Shorts was born on January 3, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois to John Earl Shorts and Ruth Lee Shorts who proceeded him in death.

Myron was a devoted, loving and caring person who just loved being around people. Myron loved playing the drums and singing his quartet music. Myron especially loved being around his family, particularly his nieces and nephews. Myron will be sorely missed by all.

In the 90’s, he moved to Gurdon with his grandmother, Mildred Muldrew. He worked at Petit Jean Poultry for a short time. Mt. Canaan Baptist Church where he played the drums and the bass guitar. He regularly attended Sunday School, and Men’s Bible Study. He trademarked the lead to the song, “Be Ready When Jesus Come”.

He enjoyed a simple life, and was always there to lend a helping hand. He willingness to serve was unmatched and spoke to his true character. Although he was not perfect, he worked towards improvement every day. He slipped from this life on Friday, January 27, 2023, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock.

Myron leaves to cherish his memory brothers Marshall Shorts (Brenda) Cleveland, Ohio; Royal Shorts (Bridgette), Winnetta Shorts, Juanita King (Allen), Rose Shorts, Kimbra (Gucci) all of Chicago, Illinois. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and the Mt. Canaan Baptist Church Family.

An evening of memories and visitation will be shared from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2023 at the funeral home. Family and friends are encouraged to express their fondest memory of Myron. Formal services will be held in Chicago, Illinois by A. R. Leak Funeral Home.
