
Jerry Rowland Sullivan, age 80, of Arkadelphia, passed from this life on Monday, October 31, 2022, at his home.
He was born January 14, 1942, in Arkadelphia, the son of the late Charlie and Mildred Shaw Sullivan. Jerry was the retired fire chief of Arkadelphia. He was retired from the United States Army National Guard. Jerry was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. He was a former member of the Lion’s Club of Arkadelphia. Jerry was a master plumber and owner/operator of Sullivan Plumbing and Ditch Witching. He enjoyed fishing, working on his motorcycle and most of all spending time with his family.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Laverne Sullivan and Margrite Rice; and three brothers, Charles Fredrick, William Sullivan and Franklin Sullivan.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years, Joyce Murrell Sullivan of Arkadelphia; three daughters, Sherry Copeland (Chris) of Arkadelphia, Joy Cross (Bruce) of Hot Springs and Rhonda Cole (Doug) of Arkadelphia; one brother, Jim Sullivan (Jean) of Hope; one sister, Shirley Cooper (Wayne) of Okolona; seven grandchildren, Josh and Justin Rogers, Cambi Copeland, Quade Smith, Douglas, Melanie and Annie Cole; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 4, at Third Street Baptist Church with Bro. Greg Lathem officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Third Street. Interment will be in DeGray Cemetery with full military honors.
Memorials may be made to Arkadelphia Fire Department or DeGray Cemetery Fund.
Pallbearers are Josh and Justin Rogers, Quade Smith, Douglas Cole, Marty Adair and Keith Francis.
