ARKADELPHIA — The Ouachita Baptist University football team has earned its highest national ranking in program history, coming in as high as No. 3 this week following a 41-7 win over Arkansas-Monticello this past Saturday at home.

The No. 3 ranking this week comes in the D2Football.com Top 25 poll. The Tigers were ranked No. 4 in the poll last week. Ouachita also moved up one spot to No. 4 in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25, extending the program’s streak to 46 consecutive polls to be nationally-ranked by the AFCA. The Tigers stayed put in the latest NCAA.com power rankings at No. 5.

The upward move in the polls comes after previously-ranked No. 1 Ferris State lost this past Saturday to then-ranked No. 2 Grand Valley State by a final score of 22-21. Ferris State, the defending national champion, remained in the top 10 nationally in all three polls. Grand Valley State is the new consensus No. 1 team in the nation.
