The following incidents were gathered from reports filed at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Names of arrested individuals were collected at the Clark County Detention Center on Crittenden Street in Arkadelphia. They are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names from the arrest log, so don’t even think about asking.

11:27 p.m.
Officers were called to a South 10th Street residence for a complaint of a known trespasser banging on doors and windows. Police arrived to find the suspect, Johnny Jerome Russey, 41, leaving the caller’s yard. Determining that Russey was intoxicated based on his unsteady gait, slurred speech and the odor of intoxicants, he was placed under arrest for public intoxication. Officers spoke with the complainant, who informed that she had a no-contact order against Russey, and that he had been released from jail earlier in the day for violating the order. Dispatch verified the no contact order, and Russey was subsequently cited for the violation.
Wednesday, Dec. 4
9 a.m.
A South 13th Street woman told police her dog had been attacked by three pit bulls while tethered outside the previous afternoon. She added that she chased them off, and that she confronted her neighbor, their owner. Unable to provide additional information about the neighbor, she was advised to contact police immediately in the event of another incident.
3:30 p.m.
Police were summoned to Walmart, where a shoplifter was detained. They made contact with loss prevention and the suspect, Shanna Utzler, 52, of Amity, and learned that Utzler, previously banned from Walmart, had stolen $45 worth of merchandise. Placed under arrest for property theft and criminal trespass, a search of her pockets prior to placing her in a police car revealed an additional $44 worth of merchandise the store confirmed had been stolen.
Thursday, Dec. 5
5:51 p.m.
A South 4th Street woman called officers to her residence because an unwanted guest, against whom she had an active protection order, refused to leave. Police arrived and entered the residence, making contact with the caller and suspect Stanley Kennel, 49. The caller advised she had allowed Kennel to stay there following the recent death of his relative, but wanted him gone now because of threats he had allegedly made. Kennel was taken into custody without incident but protested the validity of the protection order since the complainant had allowed him to stay there for an extended period of time.

9:06 a.m.
Police took a delayed report of battery from a woman who said a known male struck her in the face multiple times.
Saturday, Dec. 7
5:09 p.m.
Officers were called to an O’Connell Street residence, where a couple were having a “heated argument” over whether the female could take their vehicle to an event. With no evidence of physical abuse and the vehicle registered to both parties, they were advised a report would be filed. The female told police she would be staying at a relative’s after the event.
Sunday, Dec. 8
1:35 a.m.
Officers were summoned to Cox Mobile Manor, 3027 Pine St., where a male wanted police to stand by as he collected his wallet from inside a residence. The gentleman was identified as Andy Perez-Martinez, 30, and showed signs of intoxication. Police had been to his residence the previous evening for the aforementioned disturbance. Asked how he got to the trailer park, he said a friend had dropped him off there; he was in possession of a key belonging to a pickup parked outside the trailer. Martinez was arrested for public intoxication.

Police were called to Stuckey’s, 3111 Pine St., where the store manager reported a known customer was leaving his garbage in the Dumpster despite being told he couldn’t.

Monday, Dec. 2
10 a.m.
A Gum Springs woman reported the theft of a 16-foot utility trailer from her Hillcrest Drive residence. A neighbor had phoned her to report that someone in a surgical mask hooked the trailer onto a white pickup at about 2:30 that morning.
Friday, Dec. 6
1:41 p.m.
A deputy was called to a Nunn Drive residence, where a man complained his neighbor’s dogs had gotten into his garbage. The deputy made contact with the neighbor and instructed him to keep his dogs up.
