ARKADELPHIA — Jax Miller has been named the D2Football.com national defensive player of the week after playing a key role in Ouachita Baptist University’s 21-13 win over previously-ranked No. 7 Harding this past Saturday at Cliff Harris Stadium.
Of Harding’s 68 offensive plays, Miller was on the tackle for 21 of them, marking a new school record for a single game in the NCAA era. He and the Tigers held Harding to 4.8 yards per play, which was a full two yards per play less than what it was averaging prior to the game.
The Keithville, Louisiana, native had four solo tackles and 17 assisted tackles to give him a total of 21, which was 14 higher than his previous single-game high of seven tackles in the week prior against Arkansas Tech.
Miller and the 4-0 Tigers are set for their longest road trip of the 2022 season this Saturday, October 1 to take on Northwestern Oklahoma State. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m. in Alva.
