I-30 wreck kills Arkadelphia resident

An Arkadelphia resident died Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle accident on the interstate in Nevada County. 

According to an Arkansas State Police preliminary fatal crash summary, Kylen Jarrel McKinney, 19, of Arkadelphia was driving a 2010 Chevy Camaro when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. The accident happened at about 6 a.m. Tuesday, July 19, near the 42 eastbound mile-marker.

The report notes that a passenger, Blair Gatlin, 20, of Malvern was injured and taken to CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs.

McKinney’s body was transported to Brazzel Funeral Home in Hope.

Road conditions were listed as dry, according to investigating Trooper Robert Neese.
