ARKADELPHIA — The Ouachita Baptist University men’s soccer team picked up a victory over the first place team in the Great American Conference on Thursday at home, knocking off Southern Nazarene 2-1 at Kluck Field.

Marshall Prather scored the game-winning goal for the Tigers (2-8-2, 2-5-1 GAC) in the 76th minute when he broke free from his defender on a pass from Hagan Sanchez. The SNU goalkeeper guessed wrong on Prather’s shot, which bounced into the left side of the net. It was the first goal for Prather in his Ouachita career.

The Crimson Storm (9-5, 6-2 GAC) opened the scoring in the 16th minute on a goal from Daniel Trojman.

Ouachita equalized the score in the 33rd minute when David Stankovic’s shot tipped off the SNU goalie’s hands and hit the back of the net. It was his third goal of the season. The goal was assisted by Ebon Jordan, his third of the year.

Armani Atilano went the distance for Ouachita in goal, matching a season-high in saves with eight.

Up next for the Tigers is a home game this Saturday against Northeastern State. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Kluck Field.
