The Annual Chamber of Commerce Week is coming up for the State of Arkansas. Several communities and chambers will be celebrating including the Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce. Arkansas Chamber of Commerce Week is Oct. 18-22. A week in October is dedicated each year to celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of chambers of commerce and the communities they represent.

“Although chamber work is often done behind the scenes, chamber staff and volunteers are involved in several aspects of the community,” the Arkadelphia Chamber of Commerce explained in a press release. “In Arkadelphia this includes business retention and expansion, community development, business support and more. During this week we will be having a big celebration to honor our Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce.”

The Arkadelphia Area Chamber of Commerce was permanently organized in 1922. Therefore, for Arkansas Chamber of Commerce Week, the Arkadelphia Chamber will be celebrating its 100-year anniversary Thursday, Oct. 21, 2021 from 3-5:30 p.m.

The Arkadelphia Chamber will host a Business After Hours event that is open to members and the public. Not only that, the chamber will also ask guests to bring an item that represents 2021 or their business, to be placed in a Chamber Time Capsule that will be buried in 2022.

The rest of the week will include a proclamation from local government, time capsule, member appreciation and more.

“The Chamber looks forward to celebrating next week and also wants to thank all of the members for making 100 years possible,” said Saybra Scott, director of communications for the Arkadelphia Alliance. “This week is really about you.”
