Edward Craig

Edward Louis “Hair Bear” Craig was born on August 25, 1967, in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, to Harvest and Ruth Macon Craig. He accepted Christ at a young age and was a lifelong member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Sparkman, Arkansas. He graduated from Sparkman High School in 1985.

Known as “Hair Bear” to his family and close friends, Edward enjoyed fishing and could spend countless hours with a line in the water. He worked for Ray White Lumber Company and took pride in the life he lived. In search of new experiences, he moved to Texarkana, where he made friends easily and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures.

Edward passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Baylor Scott & White Heart Hospital in Plano, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvest Craig (1999) and Ruth Macon Craig (2016); his brothers, Harvey Craig (1988) and Larry Craig (2020) and his sisters, Lilly Box (2015) and Joyce Wright (2004).

Edward leaves to cherish his memory his daughter, Brandy D. Craig, and her children, Willie McDaniel, Kharsyn Turner, and Honor Thornton, all of Aubrey, Texas; his brother, Terry Craig of Sparkman, Arkansas; his sisters, Rosalind (Joseph) Hall of Sparkman and Cicely (Rodney) Parham of Benton, Arkansas; and his brother-in-law, Gary Wright. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
