The Arkadelphia Police Department’s School Resource Officer (SRO) Unit, in partnership with Arkadelphia Public Schools and local community partners, invites the public to attend “SCHOOL IS A BATTLEFIELD,” a parent and community awareness event on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2026, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Arkadelphia High School Little Theater.

The event presentation will be led by Sgt. Randy Lau, SRO Unit Team Leader with the APD, and is designed to bring parents, educators, law enforcement, and community members together for an important conversation about the challenges facing today’s students and our shared responsibility to keep our schools and children safe.

The evening will feature information and perspectives from representatives of school administration, law enforcement, the Prosecutor’s Office, Juvenile Probation Services, and Counseling Services. Topics will focus on school safety, student challenges, available resources, and ways families and community partners can work together to support our youth. A question-and-answer session will provide attendees with an opportunity to engage directly with participating professionals.

Our children’s safety is a shared responsibility. This event is an opportunity to strengthen community partnerships, increase awareness, and empower parents and community members with information and resources to help protect and support our students.
