HOT SPRINGS — Mid-America Science Museum will host Toothapalooza, a day of free dental screenings, hands-on science and family activities focused on oral health, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026.
Made possible by a Delta Dental of Arkansas Education Grant, the event will offer free museum admission to the first 560 children and their families on a first-come, first-served basis, helping expand access to both dental health resources and science education.
“Many families in our community don’t have easy access to dental care, and a free screening can be an important first step,” said Noreen Killen, interim CEO of Mid-America Science Museum. “We’re grateful to Delta Dental of Arkansas for helping us bring these resources to families while they explore and learn together at the museum.”
Free dental screenings will be provided by MY WHY, a volunteer group of dental professionals dedicated to oral health. The National Theatre for Children will present “Land of Smiles,” an interactive dental health program.
Activities will include plaque slime, microscopic views of teeth, tooth impressions and models, tooth art, story time with the Tooth Fairy and a dino-sized showdown between Plaqueasaurus and Flossiraptor. Children who complete the Toothapalooza bingo challenge will receive a prize from Delta Dental of Arkansas, and every child will receive a free dental health kit.
Mid-America Science Museum is located at 500 Mid America Blvd. in Hot Springs. For more information, visit midamericamuseum.org/event/toothapalooza.
