The following incidents were gathered from reports filed July 13-19, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking.

Wednesday, July 15
Juvenile report: Animal bite
5:43 p.m.
Police were called to the 1000 block of Clinton Street, where a Summit Utilities employee was bitten by a dog. He said he was in the front yard checking to determine whether a dog barking on a resident’s front porch was secured in a kennel when a female passerby asked if he was afraid of dogs. Turning his attention to her and his back to the porch, the dog lunged and bit him on the shin, causing a laceration that, in accordance with company policy, required medical evaluation and treatment. The dog’s owner, Skyler Holliman, was issued a citation related to the incident. The city’s Sanitation Department supervisor responded and took possession of the dog and its six puppies for a required 10-day quarantine.
Thursday, July 16
5:58 a.m.
Officers responded to 120 Walnut St. for a physical altercation that occurred between employees. The caller advised that he had terminated an employee, who returned shortly after and shoved him into a lumber pile. No arrest was made.
3:12 p.m.
A female reported that a known male had violated the no contact order she has against him. She was advised to follow up with the prosecutor’s office.
8:43 p.m.
A young lady reported being forced into continuing a dating relationship despite her efforts to leave, and that she had been the victim of ongoing abuse. Officers found no signs of visible injuries on the complainant, who was transported to the hospital for further evaluation.
Friday, July 17
11:55 a.m.
Officers were summoned to Walmart for a complaint of a DHS employee yelling inside the store. Once contact was established with the DHS employee, it was learned that she was overseeing a visitation of foster children with their biological parent when one of the children took off running, prompting an argument with the parent. Loss prevention said a ban was being issued to the social worker for using vulgar language toward customers. Everyone left the store peacefully.
Felony incident still under investigation: Forgery, 2000 block of Pine Street
6:45 p.m.
A renovator working at 2911 Pine St. reported the theft of his vehicle license plate, possibly by a known suspect who had asked to use the plate on his recently purchased vehicle. The plate was entered into a crime database as stolen.

Saturday, July 18
6:20 p.m.
A Brookshire’s customer reported losing her wallet, possibly in the parking lot. She phoned later that night to report her debit card had been used at another retailer.

Monday, July 20
6 a.m.
Officers were called to the 1000 block of Main Street for a domestic disturbance sparked by a man’s unrequited sexual desires for a female. After taking statements from the involved parties and observing no visible injuries on anyone, all were advised of procedures to obtain a no-contact order.
8:31 a.m.
A Hunter Street woman reported the theft of her wallet from a briefly unattended vehicle.

Friday, July 10
12:14 p.m.
A deputy was called to Davidson Campground Road, Okolona, for a complaint of someone stealing gravel from the side of the road. The deputy learned that a county road department employee had given the person permission to take the gravel, which had been left in the ditch from a previous inclement weather event.
Friday, July 17
7:24 p.m.
Conducting a traffic stop at 8th and Caddo streets on a vehicle with an object hanging from its rearview mirror, a deputy made contact with the driver and immediately detected the scent of marijuana. The driver, Kayla Heath, 34, of Malvern, provided an ID. Dispatch advised that Heath had a suspended license and warrants out of Malvern and Arkadelphia. Heath was detained while the deputy spoke with the passenger, Austin Steelman, 32, of Bismarck, and advised a search of the vehicle was necessary based on the smell of marijuana. Steelman claimed ownership of a couple of roaches beneath the seat. Dispatch advised that Steelman had warrants from Arkansas Board of Parole and in Caddo Valley. Both were arrested for the warrants.
