Center Point Road overpass at I-30 closed for bridge damage

GURDON — A bridge over Interstate 30 is closed until further notice following an accident Monday, July 13.

The Center Point Road overpass was damaged around noon Monday when a piece of heavy equipment, being hauled by a tractor-trailer that was involved in a wreck on the interstate, struck the bridge. The crash happened near the 60 eastbound mile-marker near the Gurdon exit and affected traffic through mid-afternoon.

Highway officials will conduct a full inspection of the bridge.
