Pantera Minerals Ltd. says it is looking for silver and antimony in southwest Arkansas.
Pantera sold 35,000 acres of lithium brine leases and other assets in Lafayette County in July 2025 to Energy Exploration Technologies, Inc., of Austin, TX for $26.1 million in cash and EnergyX common stock.
Now, the Perth, Australia based company is using proceeds from that sale for new exploration. Pantera reports on its website that it is drilling for silver – one of the world’s best known precious metals — and another closely-related element, antimony, used in fire retardants and as an alloy that strengthens lead and tin.
Silver and antimony are often found together in nature. Mining for those elements has a long but not especially profitable history in southwest Arkansas. Pantera’s search for silver and antimony centers on the Gillham community of Sevier County – Gilliam was originally founded under the name of Silver City.
Pantera has leased drilling rights to about 5,000 acres in the Gilliam area.
