Dispatch Desk: Woman arrives home to find estranged husband on the couch

The following incidents were gathered from reports filed May 25-31, 2026, at the Arkadelphia Police Department and Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Arrested or cited individuals are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law. The Arkadelphian does not withhold names, so don’t even think about asking. 

Arkadelphia Police Department

Tuesday, May 26

8:16 a.m.
Conducting a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired tags, an officer learned through conversation with the driver, Breanna Leshay Diaz, 34, of Arkadelphia, that she did not possess a valid driver’s license; a check of her information revealed that her license was suspended and that, as a parolee, she was subject to warrantless search. An assisting officer observed Diaz moving items around in the vehicle as the other officer returned to his vehicle, and a search was conducted, yielding a meth pipe. Diaz was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

10:22 a.m.
Police were called to a domestic disturbance at Ridgecrest Apartments, 724 S. 10th St. No arrest was made, but one male was trespassed from the property.

Wednesday, May 27

Felony incident still under investigation: Breaking or entering, Landon Stone Apartments, 100 Caddo St.

Thursday, May 28

9:41 a.m.
At the request of the Arkansas Department of Transportation, a contractor working on the Arkadelphia Bypass complained that someone had vandalized a portion of the newly paved road north of the Pine Street intersection.

3:52 p.m.
Police were called to 615 N. 14th St. for a pedestrian’s complaint that three small dogs charged at her, one of them biting her on the calf and tearing her pant leg. An officer observed a small abrasion but the skin was not broken. The city’s Animal Control officer arrived and collected the canines for a mandatory 10-day quarantine at the pound. The dogs’ owner was made aware of the incident and notified that they were being taken.

7:53 p.m.
Officers were called to a Leewood Street residence for homeowner’s report of an unattended death. The deceased was a 77-year-old male with multiple medical conditions. Williams Funeral Home arrived to take possession of the deceased.

Friday, May 29

Juvenile report: 3rd-degree domestic battery

Felony incident still under investigation: Disorderly conduct, 5th Street

11:40 a.m.
An officer observed the driver of a pickup truck stopped at the traffic light at Walnut and Pine streets, door open and speaking with a motorcyclist parked next to him. When the light turned green, the pickup driver went through the intersection, his door still ajar, and a traffic stop was conducted at US Bank and EZ Auto. Learning that the driver, John David Brown, 25, of Okolona, had a suspended license, he was arrested on the charge.

Saturday, May 30

5 p.m.
A South 10th Street woman reported coming home to find her estranged husband sitting on a couch, as he’d entered through an unlocked kitchen window. The male would later go to the police department to provide a statement that he knew the window to be unlocked. He was advised to stay away from the property.
