The rainfall forecast through May 26 is calling for chances of daily precipitation through at least next week, according to the National Weather Service in Little Rock.
“Rain chances will be in the forecast practically every day throughout the next week,” the NWS posted on its website.
A round of storms Tuesday afternoon dropped 0.62 inches of rain onto the Arkadelphia area. The highest rainfall amounts Tuesday fell across northwest, north-central and western Arkansas.
More rainfall is expected across the state, with the highest amounts likely across the southern half of Arkansas. A NWS forecast map released Wednesday hints that the southern one-third of the state — including all of Clark County — is set to receive 4 to 6 inches of rain through May 26.
The latest precipitation outlook shows the highest probability to be Friday morning, May 22. The Memorial Day weekend could be a wet one.
Arkadelphia’s extended forecast calls for a slight chances of showers and thunderstorms until Thursday evening, when chances grow to 90%. Showers and storms are also likely throughout the weekend, with chances ranging from 60-80%.
Memorial Day’s forecast calls for the likelihood of showers and thunderstorms under mostly cloudy skies and a high near 80. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
The pattern continues through at least Tuesday, when more showers and thunderstorms are likely.
