Chilly weekend ahead, says NWS

Following a cold front moving across Arkansas this week, temperatures will be average to slightly below average before temps begin to rebound late weekend into the following workweek, the National Weather Service in Little Rock said.

Temperatures in Arkadelphia will feel cool for the next several nights, with lows dipping into the low 40s by Saturday night, May 2, according to the area’s extended forecast.

Daytime highs will be in the upper 60s Thursday through Saturday, with nightly lows hovering in the upper to lower 40s.

There are daily chances for precipitation through Friday night, with the greatest possibilities Friday, at 40%. Expect scattered showers and a possible thunderstorm each day.

The weekend forecast calls for sunny skies. Saturday’s high will top out around 70, and Sunday’s high will be in the mid 70s.

Chances for precipitation return Tuesday under otherwise partly sunny skies and a high near 80.
