Jane Daugherty, age 92, peacefully left to be with God on April 16.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Daugherty, and her parents, Horace Brooks and Ressie (Neeper) Brooks.
She is survived by her children: Paul Daugherty (Maia) of Kona, Hawaii; Michele Rubeor (Jim) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and John Daugherty (Linda) of Virginia Beach, Virginia. She also leaves behind 11 amazing grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
As a devoted military wife, Jane traveled the world, living in places ranging from Germany to Thailand before settling in Bismarck, Arkadelphia and eventually Hot Springs. She embraced each chapter of life with grace, curiosity, and strength.
Jane had a true gift and passion for gardening-a green thumb that seemed to bring life and beauty wherever she planted. As she often proved, no weed was ever safe from her determined hands. She also loved the game of bridge, especially her weekly games at the Elks, where she enjoyed both the competition and the camaraderie. She really liked the days she went home with the $2 first place money.
Always beautifully dressed, Jane carried herself with elegance and warmth. In her final two years at West Shores, she continued to share her gifts and spirit, helping create a vibrant patio garden alongside her friends. She was always ready for a good game of Super Samba and had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcome.
Jane will be remembered as kind, loving, and full of life-a woman whose presence made the world a little brighter for all who knew her.
Service will be held Friday, April 24, 11 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church where she was a member of the Catherine Circle. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests honoring Jane’s memory by contributing to the flower fund at West Shores so the beauty she helped create will live on.
Hope you are smiling at the joy of having known Jane…Mom…Mama…Gigi .
