Barbara Ann Scott, age 90, of Arkadelphia, formerly of Okolona, passed from this life on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Twin Rivers Health and Rehabilitation Center in Arkadelphia. She was born December 7, 1935, in Okolona, the daughter of the late Marvin and Elsie Duke Shope.
Barbara was retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and as a caretaker of her elderly friends. She was a member of Third Street Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, camping, thrift shopping and going to yard sales in her free time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William “Scotty” Scott, her daughter, Amy Scott, one brother, Richard Shope and one sister, Patsy Cox.
Survivors are two sons, David Scott (Barbara) of North Bend, WA and William “Mike” Scott of Okolona, four grandchildren, Mikayla Wright (Cody), Bailey Albrecht (Caleb), Will Scott (Rhoman) and Kennedy Rankin, and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Welch Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Lathem officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Smyrna Cemetery in Okolona.
In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Clark County Humane Society, P.O. Box 435, Arkadelphia, AR 71923.
