Arkadelphia is in for some wet weather during the middle of the week as a round of showers are expected to sweep over the area Wednesday and Thursday.

The National Weather Service in Little Rock’s detailed forecast for Arkadelphia calls for a 30% chance of showers beginning Tuesday night, Dec. 16, and more chances of showers Wednesday.

The potential for showers grows to 70% after midnight Wednesday into the predawn hours of Thursday, with thunderstorms also possible. The forecast almost guarantees a wet Thursday, with an 80% chance of precipitation and a thunderstorm or two.

Clear skies return Thursday night, along with a nighttime low of 29.

Nightly lows, in the meantime, will be in the upper 30s Tuesday and upper 40s Wednesday. Daytime highs will be in the 50s and, on Thursday, in the mid-60s.

Looking ahead for the Christmas holiday, the Weather Service’s extended outlook for temperature and precipitation calls for overall warmer and dryer conditions for late December.
