Five seniors from local high schools received Good Citizen awards from the Arkadelphia Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution at a tea and chapter meeting Tuesday, Dec. 9, at Second Baptist Church in Arkadelphia.
Those receiving awards were: Annie Hardin, Arkadelphia High School; Jayme Roeck, Bismarck High; Kinzey Tigue, Centerpoint High; Uriah Gatlin, Gurdon High; and Anna Davis, Ouachita High.
High school faculty members and students chose each school’s Good Citizen by vote. Selection was based on leadership, dependability, service and patriotism.
Each winner received a lapel pin and a certificate from the Arkadelphia chapter.
Arkadelphia’s Good Citizen, Annie Hardin is the daughter of Justin and Jill Hardin. She is a member of the AHS band, a two-time all-state soccer player and district champion in doubles for the Badger tennis team.
Jayme Roeck serves as a student council representative, vice-president of FCCLA and an FCA leader at Bismarck High. Her parents are Josh and Amanda Roeck.
Kinzey Tigue, daughter of Kelsey and Kyle Tigue, is a cheerleader and a student council representative at Centerpoint High School.
A delegate to Arkansas Boys State, Uriah Gatlin is a member of the Gurdon High football, basketball and track teams. He is the grandson of Ruby Gatlin.
At Ouachita High, Anna Davis serves as Beta Club secretary, yearbook editor and a member of FCA and student council. Her parents are Grant and Holly Davis.
